Some quick facts about me.

I recently began to work full time on my campaign after 30 years of public service as a police officer, juvenile supervisor, college instructor and prosecutor.   My heart and soul has always been in law enforcement, and my energy is being directed to the all-important task of winning this election so that the citizens of Washoe County can obtain the protection they deserve, both from those that would commit crimes and to protect the taxpayers from misspent funds.

I was born and raised in Fallon, Nevada, and I moved to Reno in 1971.  After leaving the Greenwave of Fallon I became a Manogue Miner where I participated in track, basketball and football. 

As early as 6 years of age, I began learning to shoot with my dad.  I began hunting by the time I was 9. 

My support for the right to keep and bear arms is evidenced by the fact I am a Life Member of the NRA.  I also hold a Nevada Concealed Weapons permit and support the right of qualified citizens to do the same.

Community

• Fundraiser and marathon runner for Team in Training/Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in the 2006 San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon, and mentor for other runners/fundraisers at other Team in Training marathons
• Member Northern Sierra Endurance Training (NSET) running and charity group (raised funds for Children’s Cabinet and Solace Tree)
• Runner, 10 marathons, one ultramarathon and many lesser distance events
• Former fundraising chair for the YMCA
• Longtime coach of youth basketball (both girls and boys teams) at the YMCA
• Fundraiser for child cancers on Team Tanner at the St. Baldrick’s St. Patrick’s Day head shaving events
